Our first theme day echoed our overarching focus for this year, which is:
“Our Voice, Our Community, Sowing the Seeds of Democracy.”
In line with our Islamic ethos, our aim is to nurture the children’s understanding of the importance of having a voice rooted in fairness and justice, and how to implement these values, based on teachings from the Qur’an and Ahadith.
Each class had a topic on which they based their activities, and transformed their classroom into a rich learning environment:
Nursery & Reception: Qualities of a Good Leader – Prophet Muhammad SAW
Year 1: Fairness & Justice – Hadhrat Umar RA
Year 2: The Shuraa Room – Islamic Parliament
Year 3: Islamic Values in Action by Great Leaders
Year 4: Mashwera – ‘Everyone’s Voice Matters’
Year 5: Justice in Islamic Governance
Year 6: Qur’aah in Islam
