Al-Furqaan Prep School was founded in 1996 by a group of concerned parents who wanted to provide their children with an education rooted in Islamic principles. They sought to create a learning environment where their children could study while practicing their faith without compromise.

After much dedication and effort, Al-Furqaan Prep School was founded in September 1996, initially running from the homes of concerned parents. Shortly thereafter, the school moved to Jumma Masjid on Bradford Road, Dewsbury, as the number of students began to grow.

As the student numbers continued to increase, the former Ilaahi Masjid building on Hope Street, Dewsbury, became vacant, and the school relocated there temporarily. However, as enrolment numbers continued to rise, it quickly became clear that the space was no longer sufficient to accommodate the growing school community.

In late 2001, in response to this growth, Al-Furqaan Prep School found its permanent home at Drill Hall House, Bath Street, Dewsbury. This new location provided the necessary space and facilities to support the expanding school and its growing number of students.

Today, Al-Furqaan Prep School continues to offer high-quality education based on the National Curriculum, taught within an Islamic framework. The school remains dedicated to nurturing students in a supportive environment where both academic and spiritual growth are prioritised.
