Our recent Theme Day, “Democracy in Our Community”, was a fantastic opportunity for pupils across the school to learn about democracy, citizenship, and the British Values that help shape our society.
Throughout the day, children took part in a range of engaging activities, discussions, and practical experiences designed to help them understand the importance of having a voice, making informed choices, and respecting the views of others. From exploring how voting works to participating in a mock election, pupils gained a deeper appreciation of how democracy plays a role in everyday life.
Each year group approached the theme in a unique and age-appropriate way, encouraging thoughtful discussions about fairness, responsibility, leadership, and community involvement. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and confidence with which the children shared their ideas and opinions.
The school was filled with a sense of excitement as pupils arrived dressed in red, white, and blue, showing great effort and helping to make the day even more memorable.
We also reflected on how values such as justice, consultation (shūrā), mutual respect, and responsibility are deeply rooted within our faith. These discussions helped pupils recognise the importance of contributing positively to their communities while upholding strong moral character.
We are incredibly proud of all our pupils for their engagement and enthusiasm throughout the day and would like to thank our staff and families for their continued support.
